Building Materials Giant Johns Manville Deploying RedPrairieTM Transportation Solution at its Four Regional Centers to Improve Customer Service and Communications

Waukesha WI – August 7, 2002 - RedPrairieTM was recently selected by Johns Manville, a leading manufacturer and marketer of premium-quality building and specialty products, to manage its transportation logistics for over 40 North American manufacturing sites. RedPrairie, the leading provider of real-time, end to-end logistics solutions, was chosen for its premier transportation solutions and for its shared dedication to customer results.
Johns Manville engaged in an extensive study and selection process prior to choosing RedPrairie and its DLx® Transportation TMS. "We were providing good service to our customers, but we needed additional information in order to manage our business and control shipping costs more effectively," said Bo Pierce, Johns Manville Director of Transportation. "We felt automation could improve communications with customers and our core carriers to bring Johns Manville to the forefront of customer service, a key competitive discriminator for us”.
Shippers Commonwealth lead the RedPrairie team for Johns Manville's evaluation, scope, and selection of the appropriate TMS program. JM joins several other TMS customers that have worked with Shippers Commonwealth to adopt the RedPrairie TMS automation technology - including Energizer Battery, General Cable, and Metro Canada. Shippers Commonwealth resources are directly performing TMS training for Johns Manville, and will also be extending their valuable experience to JM on the formation of the Central Load Control Center -- its startup and multi-site rollouts, trading partner activation, carrier selection advisory support, and new business practice adoption.
