Expansion of Successful Shippers Commonwealth TMS Program for Sonoco Products Company
July 14, 2005 - Richmond VA: Shippers Commonwealth has been selected by Sonoco Products Company as its Transportation Management System (TMS) provider, in its phased Pilot to Production TMS program powering the Sonoco Corporate Transportation Center (CTC) based in Hartsville SC. The initial pilot program demonstrated highly successful results with incremental freight cost savings well in excess of projections.
As of July 14, 2005, Sonoco has acquired a perpetual software license from Shippers Commonwealth for its extended TMS solution program, where ShipComm will also continue to host the system for Sonoco as well. Expansion of the program across the Sonoco enterprise is in progress.
