Bon-Ton Stores Awards TMS Program to Shippers Commonwealth
March 31, 2006 - Richmond VA: Bon-Ton Stores has awarded major contract to Shippers Commonwealth to furnish and support its comprehensive Transportation Management System (TMS), to be centrally operated from Bon-Ton logistics headquarters in Allentown PA.
ShipComm is providing its complete TMS suite to Bon-Ton on perpetual software license basis and also hosting the application for this leading retailer in a large-scale, turnkey program. The launch program was initiated on March 29, 2006 with kickoff sessions for the core TMS and Logistics Portal systems from ShipComm, to be immediately followed by phased rollout plan to deploy ShipComm’s integrated Freight Pay system, Shipment Intelligence Center, and Dock Door Scheduler.
This will provide for the most powerful TMS automation solution. to be fully integrated with Bon-Ton Purchase Order, Accounting, Warehouse Management, and Vendor Compliance systems. The TMS will serve to optimize and automate shipment management for the rapidly growing Bon-Ton Stores’ operations. These retail operations will now be significantly expanded with Bon-Ton’s recently announced acquisition of the Saks Northern Stores Group.
